Learn Dholuo

This page is for anyone looking to learn Luo (also called Dholuo), the language spoken by more than 4.2 million people in Kenya and Tanzania. Sarah Lebu, Tiba volunteer of the Luo Tribe, created six interactive language-learning videos to help you on your Dholuo journey. You can also reference her Luo Glossary.

In addition, Sarah helped to create dynamic, virtual flashcards on Quizlet.com with the help of Tiba volunteer Caleb Plakun. Take one minute to create a free Quizlet account so you can quickly learn more than 100 common phrases and medical terms to better connect with and serve the Luo community. Good luck!
