Thank you to Tiba and Boda Girls Donors!
I am delighted to share some remarkable news that reflects the collective efforts of our amazing community. Through your unwavering support, our recent Gala event and Boise Fundraiser have generated an impressive $492,000, earmarked to fuel our transformative projects in Kenya.
It is with admiration that I acknowledge Dr. Rhiana Menen, volunteer surgeon from Boise, a valued member of the Tiba board and tireless advocate for women in Kenya. Organized by the Abida Boda Girls Boise Chapter, the Boise Fundraiser culminated in a noteworthy sum of $92,000. Their efforts are an inspiration to us all, and we are immensely grateful for their support.
Thank you Chapter members–Diane Schwarz, Eileen Barber, Julie Manning, Lisa Derig, Nina Bradley, Noreen Womack, Sandra Andersen, Paige Shafer, Rhiana Menen, Alexis Morgan, Chelsea Hough, Ilana Rubel, Lesa Breding, and Hollis Brookover and teens–Anja, Tamara, Ashley, Joey, Carter, and Fischer.
In addition to celebrating our fundraising achievements, we are thrilled to announce the commencement of the second cohort of Boda Girls in April. The Boda Girls program continues to exemplify our commitment to empowering women in Kenya by developing them as motor taxi drivers, known as “boda bodas” in the region. However, beyond business development, this program fosters a close-knit community of women who actively uplift and empower one another.
Your dedication helps to fuel health, education, and livelihood opportunities that empower lives. Your support exemplifies the unwavering spirit of compassion and collaboration that defines Tiba’s mission. We are honored to partner with you and with Kenyans who are working hard to make a better life for their communities.
As we forge ahead, let us be steadfast in our determination to create lasting change. Your continued support remains an indispensable pillar upon which our endeavors stand. Many exciting things have happened in the last few months regarding the hospital and new OR and I look forward to sharing them with you.
With utmost gratitude and optimism.
